When the house is already in our notebooks and the desk answers promptly, a focused brief can be ready within a few business days. If the notice is incomplete or the desk is slow, we will say when we can write and what is still missing.
Some houses welcome accompanied children at certain hours; others do not. Age limits, separate changing rooms, and quiet expectations vary by house. We can help you ask the desk the right questions before you go. We cannot override a house rule that excludes minors from a room.
No. A first visit works best in a calmer house with a clear wash step and a short packing list. The briefing exists precisely so you do not learn the path by watching strangers and guessing.
Experience helps later, when you already know your own limits with heat, crowds, and silence. It is not a requirement for writing to us.
Mid-morning on an ordinary weekday is often kinder than a famous hall at peak evening. Ask the desk when the locker row is least crowded and whether groups book the space. Reputation is a poor guide for a first hour; crowd density is a better one.
Confirm clothing, issued kits, and opening hours again close to the visit. If staff give you a different instruction at the door, follow the person in the room. Send us what changed afterward so we can mark the old note as stale.
